CinemaScope is an exhibition being hosted and curated by Boxbird Gallery during the Brighton Fringe Festival in May 2009. The exhibition includes new works based on the theme of cinema by the Boxbird artists and is also open to submissions.
The Brief
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a minimum of two limited editionOne of a small set of prints. The smaller the edition run the more valuable and unique the work prints (A2 size) for Boxbird’s ‘CinemaScope’ exhibition in May 2009. The prints can be based on any film of your choice and must either depict a scene, character, location, or be your own version of the film poster. Artwork can be produced in any format the artist wishes as long as it is suitable for rolling and posting, and is on A2 size paper with room for mounting.
Style of work
At Boxbird we specialise in limited editionOne of a small set of prints. The smaller the edition run the more valuable and unique the work prints and silk-screens by a variety of illustrators, printmakers and designers. If you think that your work would fit in with the style of other artists currently exhibiting with Boxbird then it’s probably worth applying for a place in CinemaScope, if you are a watercolour artist or photographer it probably wont be quite what we are looking for. Don’t forget that we are big supporters of emerging talent, students and recent graduates so regardless of your professional experience we look forward to hearing from you.
