Jane Ormes is a printmaker and designer living and working in Bristol. Her degree was in Surface Pattern Design, which reflects her love of decorative elements and colour.
She has been freelancing successfully since 1987 but rediscovered her love of printmaking 8 years ago when she became a member of Spike Print Studio.
She has worked with Marks and Spencer, Ikea, The National Trust and Templar Publishing (her first children’s book came out this year) amongst others, and she supplies galleries across the country with her whimsical, brightly coloured handmade screen-prints.
Career highs have been spotting one of her Christmas card designs on the Queen’s desk, clapping eyes on her Ikea print in an episode of Coronation Street, and rumours that Daniel Craig has in his possession one of her cards that features his trunks. Future plans include a range of textiles, more books and world domination (well at least in Bristol).
